How workstation access changes repair-order flow

The access layer matters at transitions: diagnosis to estimate, estimate to approval, parts decision to resumed work, technical assistance to next repair step, and completed work to documentation or closeout.

In a fixed-access model, the employee leaves the point of action, finds the assigned workstation, reconstructs the task, enters or retrieves information, and then returns or relays the result. A distributed-access model places an approved terminal closer to the natural work path.
